Female patient reported the following Omnicef side effect(s):Hives, anxiety, aggitation, itching, swelling in joints, lymphadenopathy, fever initially 101 degrees F.

Five year old child developed hives, that spread out into a massive deep red rash initially withing about 24 hours after finishing Omnicef (2nd bout of this med in about 3 months). In 36 hours rash had become raised and purple, extreme joint swelling & pain. Took her to ER that admitted her for overnight observation; Dx of \"Serum Sickness\" from Omnicef. Rx Antiinflammatories, Prednisone, and antihistimines first by IV, then at home Per Ora.

Diagnosis: Ear infection with pus; had been on same medication about two months ago for the same thing.
Pre-existing conditions: None that we know of. This is a first event but the 2nd time the medication was taken for ear infection.
