Citalopram (Celexa) report #SELF-3258

Female patient reported the following Citalopram (Celexa) side effect(s):heart palpitations, heart beating faster, chest pain, shortness of breath, sweating, muscles tension, clenching of fists and muscles stiffening, anxiety worsening rapidly, confusion, visual and sound hallucinations, agitation, loss of all sexual appetite, nausea, dizzy spells, feeling dazed and in la la land, feeling weak and hollow, total loss of appetite and rapid weight loss, aware of heart beating, unable to sleep well because of shortness of breath and heartbeat worsening anxiety to the point of no relaxation, Nervousness, memory loss

I took 1 tablet everyday. I am a 21 year old female at 91bs. at 4\'8\". I took the medication for about 2 months ritually and weened myself off of the medication when the anxiety grew worse. Because of my size, I have always been prone to and received some horrible serious symptoms off of medications. None so bad as this. I am now in order to see my doctor and cardiologist to have xrays, etc. to find the problem before it\'s too late. My girlfriend was also put on it for anxiety. She ended up in the hospital with heart failure [she is alive today fortunately] because citalopram damaged her heart/valves due to heart fluctuation and shaking. Hopefully I will be luckier.

Pre-existing conditions: I had a past history with speeding street drugs. I stopped them a few years ago. It was the citalopram that started it all however. It slowed down quite a bit a few months after I stopped the medication. It is getting worse again. Over a 2 years time since then, I am worried more than ever of the longterm side effects.
