Depocyte Intrathecal report #SELF-356
Male patient reported the following Depocyte Intrathecal side effect(s):dizziness, severe headaches, severe nausea, fainting with neurological signs (hands trembling, head twitching, eyes are wide open not blinking), after each major fainting episode patient was fine after 5 minutes, all vital signs were normal. Receives injection intrathecally every 2 to 3 weeks. Patient is worse the first week and half,then gradually seems to start feeling better. Gets another and one day after it starts all over.

Diagnosis: Relapsed AML with spinal fluid involment in February 2008. Had Bone marrow Transplant on July 16th, 2008, released from hospital on August 6th. Starting get the spinal taps again in Sept. Had about 10 treatments of regular cytarabine in March and April, starting receiving Depocyte in May until end of June (did not experience same side affects).
Pre-existing conditions: Liver was enlarged in hospital and enzymes were highly elevated, but have returned to normal.
