Coversyl - 4 mg/day report #SELF-3735

Female patient reported the following Coversyl - 4 mg/day side effect(s):I have noticed tinnitus for 2 days and then today I had a very overwhelming vision phenomena: it appeared to me like water moving across my retina in a V-shape (like geese flying in formation) and the V was watery-looking with vertical stripes in it. It really hampered my ability to read or focus on anything. Lasted about 30 minutes. Tinnitus continues.

I had just taken my Coversyl at 8:00 a.m. and about 15 minutes later I noticed the vision problems. The phenomena continued to worsen until I couldn\'t see properly at all. This would have been very dangerous if I\'d been driving instead of sitting on my couch.

Event date: Wednesday September 9th 12:00:00 AM
Dosage: 4 mg / day
Frequency: a per day
Age: 54
Weight: 265
Other medications: No other medications being taken at all. Haven\'t even taken my vitamins or supplements since starting Coversyl.
Diagnosis: high blood pressure - was formerly on Ramipril but it was leaking into my kidneys so my Dr. switched me to Coversyl because it apparently has better beta-blockers.
Pre-existing conditions: My alcohol consumption is 1 glass of red wine each evening.
