Either technetium or Lasix utilized during renogram report #SELF-52
Female patient reported the following Either technetium or Lasix utilized during renogram side effect(s):Muscle spasms across back, into R kidney area, across abdomen, down legs into feet, malaise.
For a renogram with Lasix washout, I received 10.25 mCi Tc 99m MAG-3 I.V.; Lasix 40mg IV at 20 minutes post MAG-3. As expected, I began urinating frequently (about every 10 minutes). The second time I urinated, I felt muscle spasms in my R kidney area (I have only one kidney), thereafter I had cramps in my abdominal area, kidney area, across my back and down my legs into my feet. This continued for about 18 hours and was almost to the point of my being disabled. My nephrologist and another physician dismissed my complaints as \"no patients ever complained of this\" or \"you were probably just dehydrated\". I was also very tired (fatigued).
