What kind of medical care would you want if you were too ill or hurt to express your wishes? Advance directives are legal documents that allow you to spell out your decisions about end-of-life care ahead of time. They give you a way to tell your wishes to family, friends, and health care professionals and to avoid confusion later on.

A living will tells which treatments you want if you are dying or permanently unconscious. You can accept or refuse medical care. You might want to include instructions on

  • The use of dialysis and breathing machines
  • If you want to be resuscitated if your breathing or heartbeat stops
  • Tube feeding
  • Organ or tissue donation

A durable power of attorney for health care is a document that names your health care proxy. Your proxy is someone you trust to make health decisions for you if you are unable to do so.

Septocaine Confusional State Reviews

Thu, 02 Jun 2011

A Septocaine injection for a lower mandibular block has pretty much destroyed my life. I have gone through 3 years of pain and drugs knowing now this is a condition I must endure the rest of my life. Had I a clue the dentist was injecting me with such a dangerous drug, I certainly would have asked for an altenrative or foregone the surgery. I live in a dark world of dispair knowing every day I have to endure at times unimaginable pain. I try to keep a smile on the outside but I know the stress my body is going through is quietly eating away my life.

Fri, 05 Dec 2008
I received 2 Septocaine injections which caused trigeminal neuropathic pain and numbness in the left side of my face, namely the V2 branch. Its been over 10 months and I still have no relief.
Thu, 14 May 2009
Received 2 carpules Septocaine w/epinephrine 1/100000 for dental work - root canal. Return of sensation took 6 - 7 hours after injection. Mental confusion and extremely slow reactions while driving lasted for about 3 hours after injection. Severe sleepiness as well.
Thu, 14 Jan 2010
Root canal with Septocaine to numb. This chemical did not make my heart race. My endodontist was finished with the entire procedure within 40 minutes. I felt nothing! :-D
