Seretide Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Causes and Reviews

COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) makes it hard for you to breathe. The two main types are chronic bronchitis and emphysema. The main cause of COPD is long-term exposure to substances that irritate and damage the lungs. This is usually cigarette smoke. Air pollution, chemical fumes, or dust can also cause it.

At first, COPD may cause no symptoms or only mild symptoms. As the disease gets worse, symptoms usually become more severe. They include

  • A cough that produces a lot of mucus
  • Shortness of breath, especially with physical activity
  • Wheezing
  • Chest tightness

Doctors use lung function tests, imaging tests, and blood tests to diagnose COPD. There is no cure. Treatments may relieve symptoms. They include medicines, oxygen therapy, surgery, or a lung transplant. Quitting smoking is the most important step you can take to treat COPD.

After long term use of Seretide 250/25 what happens if you suddenly stop using it

Sun, 30 Jun 2013

I forgot when the exact year I have started using Seretide but i know it's more than just 10 years. When I started using it life has become normal. I can do anything I wanted to without having to grasp for my breath. I don't have to sleep by my chair when I have asthma attacks. I just couldn't let go of Seretide. As to its side effect, am not sure if my deformed fingers have anything to do with Seretide diskus.

Fri, 04 May 2012

I am on Seretide Diskus 250 only for one month. Can I drink alchocol while using Setetide Diskus 2 times daily?

Wed, 07 Mar 2012

I tried Seretide 8 months ago for poorly controlled asthma. Day 3 I had an awful panic attack + confusion and dizziness. I went to the GP and he told me Seretide could not have caused the reaction. (didnt offer an alternative) I ceased the medication regardless because I felt it was the trigger. Last week, fed up of asthma attacks I recommenced Seretide. Day 2. Same reaction. Confusion, dizziness leading to a panic attack. Went to a better GP this time and although he didn't believe the Seretide caused the attack he gave me a non steroidal preventer. Good effect with Intal. I am a nurse, I know my body well. Never had a panic attack prior to use, Seretide caused me awful panic attacks.

Thu, 25 Oct 2012

this is a question i would like 2 be answered, i have put on a good lot of w8 since taking Seretide

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

I am 49 year old and I have been on Seretide for over 4 years now. I have had 2 episodes of pneumothorax in the last 3 months. While being in hospital I learnt that two young ladies who had pneumothorax also were using Seretide. Is there anybody who has had pneumothorax and is or was using Seretide?

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

On Seretide for a few days now.  I seem to be a bit depressed and having mood swings.  also tremors which I know are common.  The anxiety and shakiness makes it difficult to rest which I need to do as diagnosed with bronchitis.

Mon, 26 Mar 2012

Has anyone had weight gain on Seretide?

Fri, 06 Apr 2012

I ave used Seretide 250 for two years and in the past year my asthma has got much worse. After visiting a consultant 3 weeks ago I was put on Seretide 500.  After the first use of this I had a dry cough and have felt much more wheezy than before. Last night i woke up with palpatations which lasted about 15 mins. I go back to hospital next week and have questions to ask.

Is the Seretide making me worse and have I had too much cortisol. I now have oral thrush dispite rinsing and my skin has really flared up. Mainly on my back and stomach or is this a side effect. Treatment of this is steroids again so more cortisol again. I`m getting really fed up with these problems.
