Chronic Sinusitis | Genetic Factors in Chronic Sinusitis
Chronic Sinusitis research study
What is the primary objective of this study?
The purpose of this study is to learn more about the genetics of chronic sinusitis and identify genes involved in chronic sinusitis.
Who is eligible to participate?
Inclusion Criteria: - Age> 18 years - Diagnosis of chronic sinusitis or normal sinuses (with verification by imaging.) You must have a recent CT scan showing either normal sinuses or the presence of sinus disease. Exclusion Criteria: - Genetic or acquired immunodeficiency - Ciliary dyskinesia - Cystic fibrosis - Autoimmune disease - Cancer of the sinuses
Which medical condition, disease, disorder, syndrome, illness, or injury is researched?
Interventions can include giving participants drugs, medical devices, procedures, vaccines, and other products that are either investigational or already available or noninvasive approaches such as surveys, education, and interviews.
Research studies and clinical trials typically have two or more research arms. An arm is a group of people who receive the same treatment in the study.
controlAdults with normal sinuses
caseAdults with chronic sinusitis and positive findings on imaging.
