Physician from UNITED STATES reported GLEEVEC problem on Aug 28, 2007. Male patient, 23 years of age, weighting 66.99 lb, was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia and was treated with GLEEVEC. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following problems/side effects: dry skin, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, iron binding capacity total decreased, oedema peripheral, pain in extremity, paraesthesia, platelet count decreased, rash, thrombosis, . GLEEVEC dosage: 400 MG, QD. During the same period patient was treated with ALLOPURINOL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
