Soon after starting Thyrogen the patient began experiencing various side effects, including:
  • Parotitis
  • Swelling
  • Tenderness
  • Central Nervous System Lesion
  • Intracranial Pressure Increased
  • Vomiting
  • Nausea
  • Pain
Drugs used concurrently:
  • Insulin (Dose:14 Unit(s))
  • The patient was hospitalized. Although Thyrogen demonstrated significant improvements in a number of clinically relevant cases, troublesome symptoms, such as Nausea, may still occur.

    This Headache problem was reported by a consumer or non-health professional from SINGAPORE. A female patient (weight: NA) was diagnosed with the following medical condition(s): therapeutic procedure.On Sep 27, 2010 a consumer started treatment with Thyrogen (dosage: 0.9 Mg, Qd). The following health products were being taken at the same time:
  • Radioactive Iodine Solution (100 Mci, Once)
  • Alfacalcidol (0.5 Mg, Qd)
  • Calcium Carbonate (1500 Mg, Tid)
  • Metformin (250 Mg, Qd)
  • Amlodipine (5 Mg, Qd)
  • Simvastatin (10 Mg, Qd)
  • When commencing Thyrogen, the patient experienced the following unwanted symptoms /side effects:
    • Acidosis
    • Brain Oedema
    • Convulsion
    • Cyanosis
    • Depressed Level Of Consciousness
    • Diarrhoea
    • Electrolyte Imbalance
    • Headache
    • Hypocalcaemia
    The patient was hospitalized. Although all health products are carefully tested before they are licensed for use, they carry potential side effect risks. Some side effects, such as Headache, may become evident only after a product is in use by the general population.

    A case of a patient (weight: NA) from TURKEY was presented. The patient developed the following symptoms/conditions: diagnostic procedure and was treated with Thyrogen (dosage: 0.9 Mg, Once) starting Dec 16, 2011. Concurrently used drugs:
  • Levothyroxine Sodium (250 Mcg, Qd)
  • Atorvastatin (20 Mg, Qd)
  • Soon after that, the subject experienced the following of symptoms:
    • Presyncope
    • Dizziness
    • Vomiting
    • Nausea
    • Vertigo
    • Burning Sensation
    The patient was hospitalized. This opens a possibility that Thyrogen could cause Dizziness and that some subjects may be more susceptible.

Directly after treatment started, patient experienced the unwanted or unexpected Thyrogen side effects: amnesia, anxiety, arthritis, blood pressure fluctuation, cognitive disorder, confusional state, disturbance in attention, emotional distress, fatigue. Thyrogen dosage: 0.9 Mg, Qd, Intramuscular; Intramuscular.
