"Pt presented with HIVES and itching after Flu Vaccine given about 20 minutes after vaccine.Pt given 50 mg IM of Benadryl. Pt monitored for 30 minutes after reaction. Pt ambulated to vehicle, husband drove home, no further problems. Counseled on S/SX to watch for and when to present to ER.". Blood Pressure medication. Hx of tachycardia. "Seriousness criteria other medically significant. Initial information received on 01 December 2006 from a health care professional. A 44 year old female patient, with no pre existing medical conditions and no illness at the time of vaccination, had received a left arm, intramuscular injection of Fluzone SV 2006/2007 lot number U2164AA, on 09 November 2006. Two days post vaccination, the patient experienced weakness in her left arm and hand. She reportedly now has numbness of the left arm and hand. She was examined in the office on 30 November 2006 and referred to neurologist. Diagnostic testing included a Lyme titer and ANA (results not provided). Follow up information received on 10 January 2007 from a health care professional. The patient was taking no other medications at the time of vaccination. Additional medically relevant information was not provided. Follow up information received from 26 January 2007 from a health care professional. At bedtime on 2/4/07 Mom noted mosquito looking bumps at at daughters hairline. Child was given Benadryl and bumps disappeared. Mom repeated Benadryl 2/5/07 do to bumps on arms. Bumps do itch. He started out with severe pain in both arms which progressed to pain with numbnes and tingling. We visited the Emergency room 3 times for the umbearable pain. On 12/3/2006 he became ataxic along with the pain. He was admitted to the hospital and 3 days later he was unable to take more than one step. He was very weak and uncoordinated. He was sent to hospital where more extensive testing could be done. He worsened until he could not walk at all and could not even feed himself. He was diagnosed with Gullian Barre' Syndrome.. INFLUENZA (FLUZONE) problem was reported from NY on Feb 09, 2007. Male patient , 66 years of age, was vaccinated with INFLUENZA (FLUZONE) on Feb 09, 2007. "One Day after receiving Flu shot, my father experienced extreme pain throughout his entire body along with fatigue. Soon after, fevers began with night sweats and chills. He returned to Dr. Tumminello who prescribed several antibiotics over the course of weeks with no relief. Symptoms continued and he was hospitalized at Wckoff Heights Hospital on 12/20/06 - 12/22/06. Fevers continued to come and go, mostly at night with sweats and chills. He continued to loose weight and was anemic. He changed doctors and began seeing Dr. Deepak Setia ((718) 821-1222)located at 385 Seneca Ave., Ridgewood, who noted there was infection but could not determine the cause. My father was hospitalized again on 01/17/07 - 01/23/07 and was seen by several doctors and administered several tests but doctors have yet to determine the cause of the infection. On 02/08/07, he visited with Dr. Subash Gulati, 449 East 68th Street, NYC (212) 535-1514 at New York Hospital/Cornell, who requested I contact CDC b/c he believes the symptoms are related to his Flu Shot of 11/14/06. His blood work continues to be very abnormal and the muscle fatigue/pain, anemia, and fevers continue. My father has been unable to work since this began and had to unwillingly retire due to above events. He has trouble climbing steps and walking even a small distance. Prior to this he was very active and completely different. My father had had prior Flu shots in the past but hadn't had the vaccine in about 4 years. He never experienced any reaction like this.". . "Client states severe headache began approx 1030 am 1/23/07. Client describes pain in pariental region of head. Client took homeopathic remedies to try to resolve pain. Histaminicum hydrochloricum, arorica Montana and turmeric capsule. Client denies any other S/SX like nausea. Client applied warm compress to back of head and cold compress to top of head and rested in a darkened room. No prior history of headaches. Client felt HA resolve shortly after 430pm and completely resolve after 1045pm. Client also stated BP taken at home by self has elevated at 13/72 at 1/2pm from am reading approx of 102/58.". "Night after receiving vaccines, she started to run a fever and unable to move the arm. Red knot on the right arm, went to ER and told her she had an allergic reaction and an infection in the muscle from the shot. Gave her a steroid and an antibiotic. Prednisone and Cephalexin. Cephalexin was given for 1 week and then on the Prednisone for 4 days. Had problems with that arm until Christmas. She was diagnosed on 2-2-07 with Meniere's disease and she did notice about 3 days after the vaccination some ringing in her left ear and vertigo, minimal hearing loss.".
