This case suggests a potential Vitamin C Fatigue side effect(s) that can have serious consequences. A 68-year-old patient from US (weight:NA) was diagnosed with the following health condition(s): nutritional supplementation and used Vitamin C (dosage: 1 Pills Three Times Daily Taken By Mouth) starting Dec 01, 2011. Soon after starting Vitamin C the patient began experiencing various side effects, including:
  • Fatigue
  • Alopecia
  • Dizziness
  • Rash
  • Pruritus
  • Dry Skin
  • Poor Quality Sleep
  • Pain
  • Trichorrhexis
Drugs used concurrently:NA. Although Vitamin C demonstrated significant improvements in a number of clinically relevant cases, troublesome symptoms, such as Fatigue, may still occur.

Adverse event was reported on Jan 29, 2013 by a Female taking Vitamin D (Dosage: Daily) . Location: COUNTRY NOT SPECIFIED , 59 years of age, Directly after treatment started, patient experienced the unwanted or unexpected Vitamin side effects: nausea, headache, injection site bruising.
Associated medications used:
  • Fish Oil (Daily)
  • Glucosamine Chondroitin (Daily)
  • Fluoric Acid (Daily)
  • Niacin (Daily)
  • Calcium
  • Humira 40 Mg/0.8 Ml Pen
  • Prednisone (Taper Down 5 Pills For 3 Days, 4 Pills For 3 Days Until 23 May 2012)
  • Alendronate Sodium

This Pain problem was reported by a consumer or non-health professional from COUNTRY NOT SPECIFIED. A 63-year-old female patient (weight: NA) was diagnosed with the following medical condition(s): vitamin d decreased,weight decreased,rheumatoid arthritis.On Oct 10, 2013 a consumer started treatment with Vitamin D (dosage: NA). The following health products were being taken at the same time:
  • Plexus Drink (I Bottle Daily)
  • Humira
  • When commencing Vitamin D, the patient experienced the following unwanted symptoms /side effects:
    • Diverticulitis
    • Pain
    • Arthralgia
    • Joint Stiffness
    Although all health products are carefully tested before they are licensed for use, they carry potential side effect risks. Some side effects, such as Pain, may become evident only after a product is in use by the general population.

  • Vitamin D
  • Lovastatin
  • Toprol Xl
  • Vivelle-dot (0.1mg/2)
  • Humira
  • Folic Acid
  • Soon after that, the subject experienced the following of symptoms:
    • Injection Site Pain
    • Headache
    This opens a possibility that Vitamin B12 could cause Headache and that some female subjects may be more susceptible.
