Sensodyne Oral Pain Causes and Reviews

Your salivary glands are in your mouth. You have three pairs of major salivary glands and hundreds of small (minor) glands. They make saliva (spit) and empty it into your mouth through openings called ducts. Saliva makes your food moist, which helps you chew and swallow. It helps you digest your food. It also cleans your mouth and contains antibodies that can kill germs.

Problems with salivary glands can cause them to become irritated and swollen. You may have symptoms such as

  • A bad taste in your mouth
  • Difficulty opening your mouth
  • Dry mouth
  • Pain in your face or mouth
  • Swelling of your face or neck

Causes of salivary gland problems include infections, obstruction, or cancer. Problems can also be due to other disorders, such as mumps or Sjogren's syndrome.

Sensodyne Oral Pain Reviews

Started using Sensodyne Pronamel Multi-Action and after a week of using my mouth feels numb. Lips and tongue feel like they are swollen and the roof of my mouth feel like there is a film over it. At first I thought it could be the medicine i was on but curiosity led me here and thanks to all who wrote. I am going to stop using this toothpaste and hope it feels better and this annoying feeling goes away!

Norman

Recently bought Sensodyne Repair Protect within two
weeks I started experiencing unbelievable pain in my front upper tooth
and gum. It felt as if the root was exposed. I also had a bad headache,
which could have been caused due to the stress of the pain. Phoned
dentist who was fortuitously away otherwise I would have wasted money on
something that was not a bad tooth. When my lower teeth started to
tingle I immediately decided that it could not be a bad tooth and
stopped using the Sensodyne Repair Protect tooth paste by morning
the 'root' pain in the gum had gone but the sensitivity of the worst
tooth persists even after a few days it is still sensitive to pressure
but seems to be getting less. I hope the Sensodyne Repair Protect
has not damaged the nerves. I agree someone should start a class action
against them. I live in South Africa where we don't have such
procedures.

Sensodyne Repair Protect and by the looks of it
all their other toothpastes are BAD for YOU and your health. Don't use
them and spread the word.

I also have a nightmare story about Sensodyne! I bought a tube of the repair and protect, i used it for a little over a week, and by the end, my lips and gums were swollen, my teeth tingled and I had a mouth full of ulcers! I've been in agony! I stopped using the toothpaste several days ago, and the pain is finally starting to let up, but my mouth is still extremely sore! They either need to remove this product from the market or put a warning label on it!!!

Sorry to hear about your painful ulcers. Like i said in my review there ought to be a class-action lawsuit against the manufacturers!

I've been using Pronamel for about a week (can't recall for certain which, I just made certain not to get whitening, as shortly after using Crest White Strips, two wisdom teeth crumbled, then when I switched to a whitening toothpaste at my husband's request, I got a hole in one molar). Out of concern for weakened enamel, I switched to Pronamel, and immediately noticed a metallic taste and tingling of my tongue that lasts about 10-30 minutes afterwards, and while my gums typically bleed minimally as long as I brush regularly, they bled PROFUSELY from the first use of Pronamel! I'm SO glad I looked up the metallic taste and found this before things got any worse! Back to Colgate for me!

I used Sensodyne Iso Active for three days and now have 10 painful mouth ulcers under my tongue!

The complaint I have is the dispensing of Sensodyne in the can. The last 2 cans I have bought did not work properly. I have ende up throwing away 1/2 of each can because the product quit coming out. Very disapointed in the design of the product. What a waste of my money

I've been using this for quite some time with no problems recently have been getting white tongue ..wondering if this could be causing it ...did u have this problem too?

After reading all the comments, I am certain this unbearable painful sore gums I've never experienced before is caused by Sensodyne toothpaste. I am furious about this company and the fact that this defect product is recommended by dentists? Conspiracy much?
It needs to be heard and they should be sued!
